Lungri padded into the camp, followed closely by Song's spirit, though none could see her but Lungri. The young male wolf looked around at the dens, his mind swimming with a thousand thoughts and memories. Suddenly, he spotted a small, vacant den, with ivy and the like forming over the entrance. He padded over to it and cleared the ivy out of the way, and looked inside. It was a small den, only large enough for three aduly wolves to stand comfortably. But there were scents, very very faint scents, that caught Lungri's attention. "This was my den." He said softly. "This is where me, Song, Vlarian, and Chief lived." Song's spirit whined softly, "I sense that something is wrong. Ask him where Vlarian and Chief are. I'm worried." Lungri nodded and whispered, hoping Bullet didn't hear him,"Very well, Mother." He turned to Bullet. "Where are Vlarian and Chief?" Beside him, Song's soul waited anxiously for the reply.

Bullet watched the young male pad towards one of the dens. Intrigued, he waited as Lungri poked his nose into the ivy, but when he emerged he seemed anxious, and worried.
And as soon as the question was voiced, Bullet understood why. They died a while ago, Lungri. He said slowly, softly. He didn't go into detail of the deaths, partly because he didn't remember it well enough. They lived honorably though, and I'm sure they are fine with the Wolf Gods.

Lungri stared at Bullet in disbelief. Song's spirit let out a long howl, mournful and grieving. When she finished, she looked down at her paws and whispered, "My poor Chief! I never knew he was dead! Oh my poor Chief! My poor son!" Lungri looked at Bullet and asked mournfully, "How old was Chief? Did he die a pup, never to be an adult?" Song's soul whimpered, not wanting to know the answer and at the same time knowing she must know.

Bullet's eyes narrowed, as he tried desperatly to remember the deaths and what occured. But nothing came to mind, so he stood there, somewhat akwardly. Shaking his head, the black and white wolf looked at the young male, a frown on his face.
I'm sorry--- I--- I just don't remember anything... Ashamed and frustrated at his lack of memory, Bullet looked away, anger making his forehead crease, making the wrinkles there more prominet features. You could ask someone else, I'm sure...

Lungri nodded, grief gnawing at his heart. Song's spirit whispered softly, "I will find out. I must go to my poor Chief. I will return." Lungri glanced at her out of the corner of his eye. She was begining to disapear. "Wait!" Lungri growled softly, hoping Bullet wouldn't hear him. Song's soul opened her mouth to argue, but then a new voice interupted her. "Who's this, father?" A tan and white she-wolf with bright blue eyes squeezed out of one of the dens, followed closely by a male wolf that looked almost exactly like Bullet, except he had white eartips, paws, and tail-tip, and blue eyes exactly like the she-wolf's. (Kenya and Bardulf)

Bullet pricked his ears as he heard Lungri growl, Wait! under his breath, but before he could ask what he wanted to wait for and who he wanted to wait, his two children appeared from his left.
Oh how beautiful they are, how old they are getting. Bullet smiled, affection in his eyes as Bardulf and Kenya approached him. This is Lungri, an old pack member. He introduced the black male, glancing back to his children with a smile. He's come back.

Kenya wagged her tail, and barked, "Welcome, Lungri! Hope you like it in Akali." She turned to her father, excitement gleaming in her eyes. "Father, I have a power now!" Bardulf rolled his eyes at his sister's excitement, but Lungri pricked his ears and asked, "Power? What does she mean by power?" Song's spirit, which had stopped her disapearance, looked at Kenya with understanding and barked, "Of course! Most of the Akali Wolves have powers! Great Wolf Gods above, I've been gone so long, I forgot! I wonder if my power still works, even though I'm dead." With that, Song's spirit closed her eyes, and suddenly, there were five Songs standing around Lungri. With dificulty, he kept his eyes from widening in surprise.

Bullet looked at his daughter in surprise. How can you---? He thought aloud, although he stopped himself before he completed the sentence. It just didn't make sense... he had never thought his children would get a power.
Well, let's see it. The male said, as if he didn't quite believe her. As he waited, he turned towards Bardulf. Have you gotten yours yet? Or is it just her?

Bardulf nodded, glaring warily at Lungri. "I can understand any language. I got my power today too. I heard two birds singing, and I realized I could understand them. I could understand the mice and squirrels in the woods too." He rolled his eyes at his sister and barked, "I didn't want to draw attention to it, unlike some wolves." Kenya stuck her tounge out at her brother, then without warning, she began to shrink, untill she was the size of an acorn. Then she began to grow again, shooting past her normal height, untill she was the size of a horse. Then she shrunk to her normal height, and asked shyly, "Well? What do you think?" Lungri's eyes were wide with surprise.

Bullet found himself shrinking back in surprise as he saw his daughter shrink, and then grow to an unimaginable size. Shaking his head, the black wolf turned away, frowning. He didn't want to see his daughter with such a power, and was even more disappointed to learn his son had also obtained a power. Do they realize the responsiblity they have now?
That's great Kenya, he said, not meeting her eyes. I'm proud of you.

Kenya's tail drooped, and she stared at Bullet in surprise. Guilt began to claw at her, and she padded over to her father, and licked him on the cheek. Stupid stupid STUPID! she berated herself. Bullet didn't have any power, and he probably never would. What was she thinking, bragging about her power to him. Tenativly, she barked, "Sorry about making such a big deal out of that."

Bullet forced a smile onto his face, his eyes lit with a sense of guilt. No, it wasn't her fault that she got a power, why should she feel guilty? No, don't be silly Kenya. You have a right to brag about it, you have a power afterall! Trying to make light of the situation, he turned towards her small, pupish form and cuffed her ears playfully.
Why don't you go and practice your power with someone? He suggested, looking at Bardulf. Like your brother? You need practice if you ever want to master them...

Kenya nodded, still feeling guilty as she and Bardulf padded out of the den area. Lungri's head snapped up, and he barked in surprise, "Of course!" His mind was whirling. That's why I can talk to the dead! It's my Akali power! That explains everything! Song also seemed to be thinking on these lines. "I can't believe I didn't realize this before! Your power should have reminded me of the Akali powers! Great Wolf Gods above, I've been gone far too long!"

Bullet watched his children grow, feeling as though yet another piece of his heart went with them. Now another thing was pushing him away from his children, they had powers, he didn't-- it was yet another thing he couldn't relate to. Feeling discouraged, the black and white wolf almost forgot about Lungri's presense, until he shouted, Of course!
Surprised, and confused, Bullet quickly glanced over towards the black male, ears pricked and brows raised questionably. What? He demanded, suddenly afraid if the Assassins were attacking. What is happening?

Lungri turned to look at Bullet, surprised. He had forgotten that the older wolf was there. No one except Bluejay had ever believed him when he said he could speak to the dead but if powers were normal here... "Would you believe me if I told you I already had a power?" He inquired, tipping his head in question. Song's spirit whinned anxiously beside him. "Bullet is a good wolf, but he does not trust strangers easily. I just hope he believes you."
